Stuttgart is one of the greenest cities in Europe. The federal capital lies in the midst of vineyards and forests, various parcs and green areas invite to linger. The so-called Green „U” stretches from the Schlossgärten to the Killesberg in which different parc grounds have been joined to one large green stretch of 8 kilometres in length since the International Horticultultural Exhibition (IGA) in 1993. Here you can go for walks, play, rest and enjoy nature far away from streets and traffic. Footbridges connect the Schlossgarten grounds, the parc of the Villa Berg, the Rosenstein parc, the Wilhelma, the Leibfriedschen Garten, the Wartberg and the Höhenpark Killesberg all the way to the Feuerbacher Heide and the Kräherwald.
Peace and quite can however not only be found in the parcs but also in the many other grounds and recreation areas close to the city, such as the Weißenburgpark, the Hohenheimer Gärten or the Max-Eyth-See.
